GemPharmatech Co., Ltd., with headquarter in Nanjing, China, specializes in generating genetically engineered mouse models (GEMMs) and providing trusted preclinical services to our customers. Our team of scientists has extensive experience creating animal models using cutting-edge gene-editing technologies. Their expertise and commitment to animal model development has resulted in GemPharmatech having one of the world’s largest collections of knockout and conditional knockout mice, known as our Knockout All Project (KOAP). We also have an impressive collection of humanized, immunodeficient, and disease models. Leadership Team

  • Xiang Gao, PhD

    PRESIDENT

    Dr. Xiang Gao has more than 20 years of experience creating, generating, and analyzing animal models. He is a distinguished Professor at Nanjing University and has more than 130 scientific publications. Dr. Gao received his PhD in Anatomy and Developmental Biology from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA.
  • Jing Zhao, PhD

    CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

    Dr. Jing Zhao has more than 16 years of experience in animal model creation and analysis. She is currently the Deputy Director of the National Genetic Engineering Mouse Resource Bank and has been involved in various scientific research and talent projects including implementing the cost control system for experimental animals in China. Throughout her career Dr. Zhao has published in several prominent journals including in Cell, the Journal of Biomedical Science, and Genesis.
  • Hong-Yu Wang, PhD

    CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER

    Dr. Hong-Yu Wang received her PhD from the University of Saarland and completed her postdoctoral training at the University of Dundee and the University of Oxford. Soon after, Dr. Wang joined the Model Animal Research Center of Nanjing University (MARC), which is a member of the International Mouse Phenotyping Consortium (IMPC) and a collaborator of the National Research Center of Mutant Mice (NRCMM). Dr. Wang serves GemPharmatech Co., Ltd. in the capacity of Technical Consultant.
  • Tremain Ju, PhD

    R&D Director

    Dr. Tremain Ju has been in the technical world for more than 10 years. He has extensive experience in immune reconstruction and gene editing (e.g., Cas9 technology), and has successfully built a technology platform for humanized mice.
